About Zeta Chi Alumni

The Zeta Chi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha at Missouri State University went silent in the spring of 2003. Memorial Headquarters indicated that strong alumni support would be needed to re-colonize.

On June 4, 2005, under the leadership of first association President Jim Roebuck, a meeting was held with Pike leadership to find a way of returning Zeta Chi to Missouri State University. The one thing that needed to be done before any consideration was establish a Zeta Chi Alumni Association. On June 4, 2005 the Zeta Chi Alumni Association was formed and in October 2005 the Association was chartered with Pi Kappa Alpha International Headquarters.

Brother Roebuck established a local committee that included John Waters, Mike Call, Wayne Angus, Jay Nicholson and David Stewart. In addition, a Chairman in Kansas City - Tim Nichols, St. Louis - Jeff Counts and Texas Craig Niederstadt. This committee has met monthly since June 2005. The association has four objectives:

1.) Re colonize Zeta Chi.
2.) Build a Symthe Award chapter.
3.) Have Fun.
4.) Never let this happen again.

The Alumni Association set out plans to re-colonize the Zeta Chi chapter. A goal of 200+ members by December 31, 2006 was set on the June 4, 2005 meeting. The association achieved 110 members that year and now has over 400 alumni in our directory.

After a hard fought battle over several years and not taking "no" for an answer, a Pike colony was established at Missouri State in January of 2011. Jay Nicholson took the role as Chapter Advisor and has been outstanding in this role. Jay was recognized as the "Chapter Advisor of the Year" in 2013. The colony did exceptionally well and received their charter within a year. Zeta Chi is back at Missouri State and is stronger than ever.

The Association is required to have at least one meeting each year and we will do so (go to Events for planned activities). We want to thank those members for their support and ask all Zeta Chi alumni to join the Association. The association would like to thank Tim Nichols, John Waters, Wayne Angus, Jay Nicholson, David Stewart, Mike Dailey and Craig Niederstadt for their support and hard work in the early years to get the association started. A special thanks goes to Jim Roebuck. Thank you for your leadership with the Zeta Chi Alumni Association for the first 8 years. We achieved many great things under your leadership and we will be forever grateful to you for your role in founding the Zeta Chi Alumni Association and returning the Zeta Chi chapter to Missouri State. We are proud of you for making us, once again, proud of Zeta Chi.
